Annual Tradition

Perseid Day.

Three days each August when we stop building and start thinking. A deliberate pause to look up, recalibrate, and remember why we burn.

August 11 – 13 Every Year
The Origin

Named after the meteor shower that peaks every August.

The Perseid meteor shower — debris from comet Swift-Tuttle — lights up the sky each August as Earth passes through its trail. Hundreds of streaks per hour. Brief, brilliant, purposeful. We chose this as our name because we believe in burning bright with intent, not drifting aimlessly.

How We Celebrate

Three days. Three intentions.

Aug 11 Day One

Rest & Reflect

We stop. No sprints, no standups, no deliverables. The first day is sacred stillness — a full break from the velocity of building. We rest, we read, we walk. We let the mind decompress from the noise of execution.

Aug 12 Day Two

Recalibrate

The second day is for honest conversation. Where are we going? Are we still aligned with why we started? We review the year — not the metrics, but the meaning. We ask the hard questions about direction, values, and what we are truly building toward.

Reimagine

The third day is generative. Freed from the weight of the present, we dream about what could exist. New ventures, new ideas, new ways to build a better future. Every major Perseid initiative has had its seed planted on an August 13th.

The Philosophy

Speed without direction is just noise.

The modern world rewards relentless output. We reject the idea that busyness equals progress. Perseid Day exists because we believe the most important work sometimes happens when you are not working — when you give your mind the space to see clearly.

Companies that never pause never course-correct. We built this tradition into our calendar before we built our first product. It is not a reward for hard work. It is a prerequisite for good work.

Intentional Pause

Scheduled stillness is not laziness. It is the discipline to protect your most valuable resource — clarity of thought.

Annual Recalibration

Every year, we ask: are we still building what matters? The answer shapes the next twelve months.

Future Seeding

The ideas that define our next chapter are born in the quiet, not the chaos. We protect that quiet fiercely.

The Output

What three days of thinking produces.

Direction

A renewed sense of north.

We leave Perseid Day with a shared understanding of where the group is headed. Not a roadmap — a compass. The clarity that comes from honest, unhurried conversation about what we are building and why.

Ideas

Seeds for the next chapter.

Every venture in the Perseid constellation has roots in a Perseid Day conversation. The Lab, the Studio, the Market — all of it began as a question asked in August, when the sky was full of falling stars and we had the space to dream.

Culture

A team that thinks together.

Perseid Day is not a retreat. It is a ritual. It reinforces that we are not just colleagues executing tasks — we are a constellation of people who care about the same future and are willing to stop and think about how to build it.

Momentum

Returning with velocity.

The days after Perseid Day are always our most productive. Not because we worked harder, but because we worked clearer. Rest is not the opposite of momentum — it is the source of it.
